Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; he rises to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him! Isaiah 30: 18
On this 26th day of November, we give God all glory, honor, and praise for the gift of His amazing grace.
How fitting that on this day before we celebrate Thanksgiving with our family and friends, we give God our gratitude for the most wonderful, most loving, and most selfless gift ever given – the gift of His grace.
How can we even begin to understand the magnitude of such a gift? Grace is God’s undeserved favor upon us, freely given with His unconditional and abiding love. There is nothing we could ever do to earn it or to be worthy of such a gift, for it is His grace that overlooks and forgives our imperfections, our weaknesses, our sin. And it is His grace that gives us the promise of eternal life through His Son, Jesus Christ.
By grace we are His. He is a faithful God who “longs to be gracious to us”, and He waits in anticipation for all to come and know Him for the God He is.
Words can’t begin to do justice to such a gift, but this song and the venue in which it is sung can. Enjoy listening to Michael W. Smith singing “Amazing Grace/My Chains Are Gone“. It is a powerful reminder of His love for an undeserving world!
Prayer
Our most gracious and loving God, we humbly come before you with a grateful heart, thanking you for the gift of your grace. Amen
